Hi there! The Honeywell Smart Color Thermostat does have the ability to be setup for Auto Changeover; this will allow the thermostat to turn on heating or cooling as needed based on your schedule setup. However, the heating and cooling set points must be at least three degrees apart and the heating set point is unable to be set above the cooling set point. So for your example, if your cooling set point is 72 degrees, you would only be able to set your heating set point to 69 or lower. To answer your question, this thermostat will not turn your heat on to bring your home up to the 78 degree set point you have chosen for the next scheduled period. It will allow the house to naturally get that warm if it is able to, and if it does, the thermostat will turn your cooling on to maintain the 78 degrees if necessary. I hope this helps!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No it just won’t cool again until it reaches 78
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Set the heating and cooling temperatures sufficiently far apart, or set the mode to heat or cool only instead of automatic heat/cool.
