QuestionI have my T9 set to give priority to "active" rooms. When one of the sensors is activated by motion (e.g. I walk into the room and then walk out), for how long does the thermostat consider the room "active" before it goes back to "inactive" status.

- Answer Yes but you have to buy a 24V power supply to power it. I bought this one. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B081LCKRNV I plugged it in in the basement and ran the wire up the wall with the 2 control wires. You connect them to RC and C and remove the jumper between R and RC. The 2 wires you have go to R and W.

QuestionIs this thermostat compatible with a two zone system? Can I have one T9 replace my existing Honeywell thermostats or do I need two separate T9 thermostats? Currently I have R, W, G, C. wires connected.

- Answer Two zones require 2 T9s. If you can combine into one zone, just use one T9 with additional sensor. The app will decide which room gets to control.

QuestionDoes the app work with an android cell phone?

- Answer Yes! And it works very well. Once in awhile, you'll open it and it will say no internet, but I just push the back button on my phone, enter the app again, and all good after that. Only twice I've had to push back button once again, and then all good. So, the one I bought came with one room sensor, I then ordered six more room sensors, for a total of seven different rooms. They all work great together, to obtain the perfect temperature for the whole house. And I control all that from my phone, if I'm home or not home. Love this thermostat!

QuestionHow do I control Air Flow in Vents only at 1st floor or 2nd floor if I have sensors in both floors. Lets say I want 1st floor in 75* and 2nd floor at 78* how di I make sure Air flow is controlled. Is there capability or does it depend on the HVAC unit ?

- Answer Hi Joey - Thanks my ask is more like will the HVAC be able to shut off Vents in 2nd floor where already temperature has reached 76 and will allow air flow only on vents in 1st floor where the temperature is 74. Do this thermostat has that capability to Control Air flow

QuestionI have a T4 pro thermostat - to replace with this model - is it plug and play or do I have to replace the UWP that comes with this model. Please note I have a C wire connected to my T4 UWP. Also, if you could please suggest other smart T series options ?

- Answer Hi KC, thank you for reaching out to us. You can just replace the face plate of the thermostat and use the same T series thermostat's wall plate. We would just need to make sure that the wiring is compatible, we need to know how many total wires you have and which terminals are being used on the current T4. QuestionI have 3 T9 thermostats all of them keep changing the time?

- Answer Hi BigBob, thank you for your question. These thermostats will automatically take the time and date from the Internet once they are connected to Wi-Fi and registered under your account. Log into the Resideo app, go to the menu (3 bar icon), select Location Address and verify that the information is correct. If the time is correct but the thermostat seems not to be following the schedule, it could be because of the 'Adaptive Recovery' feature that starts the system before the scheduled time so the setpoint is reached already by the desired time. You can disable the feature by going to the menu on the screen of the thermostat, select 'Preferences', then 'Adaptive Recovery' and turn it Off. - Maria

QuestionHow often/frequently does the room sensor communicate with the thermostat, for example is it a live reading or does it communicate every two minutes..etc? Thanks

- Answer Hi John, once a sensor goes from ‘no motion’ to ‘motion detected’, it will be sent to the thermostat almost immediately. The sensors are always looking for motion in the background. The debounce time on the interrupt is 3 seconds. - Maria

Questionwe have a all electric new home heat pump and aux electric furnace. can this be set to bypass heat elements so heat pump does most of the heating . Or set heat elements on a delay so don't kick on right away thankx

- Answer This is going to be a plug and play, the only thing you'll want to confirm is that your current T3 has a wire connected to the C terminal as this wire is required for our wifi thermostats. -Joey

QuestionJust installed this, all the sensors work and read temperature which allows the heat to kick on, but the actual thermostat sensor does not show temperature for that room. Is this a bad thermostat or could I have done something wrong in the wiring

QuestionHow do you get firmware updates to the T9? Can you trigger a manual update - if so how? Or, do you need to wait for Honeywell to push it out?

- Answer Hi, you can control this thermostat remotely from a different location. You will first have to make sure to connect the T9 thermostat to a Wi-Fi network and register it using the Resideo app. The phone with the app should also be connected to Wi-Fi or using mobile data when trying to control the thermostat remotely. - Maria
