Every week or 2 weeks depending on usage and water hardness: 2 cups of distilled white vinegar (full strength) - shake top part; connect with bottom part and let liquid flow to bottom reservoir, then let sit for 15 to 20 minutes; the second part is to use bleach (separately from the vinegar treatment) - 1 teaspoon with half gallon of water (same as vinegar procedure) - it's on the instruction manual.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.You can, but there’s not really a reason to. The top clear part comes off so you can clean that by rinsing it out. I’d avoid any harsh chemicals (like Clorox) and probably just use some mild soapy water and rinse it well.
