Dehumidifiers without a built in pump rely on drainage into the bucket or on gravity when the drainage hose is connected. Dehumidifiers with the pump allow drainage without being gravity dependent, in other words water drains in upward direction if necessary. I like the Honeywell model that I purchased from Best Buy. It was easy to set up! The product is very powerful and had has been running in my basement for a few weeks now, humidity level is < 30%. Damp musty smell is finally gone.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I'm rethinking about getting another dehumidifier with a pump. I've already gone with through TWO 70 pint "pumped" units in 3 years. The pumps work too hard and just burn out... so I end up having to go downstairs and emptying the tank. Very inconvienient! So, I'm thinking about just going with a gravity type since I have a drain in the floor.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I would allow you to push the water a greater distance, and possibly up and out a window.
