A:AnswerIf the unit indicates an actual humidity level of about 5% below your setting, it will shut-off and remain off until the humidity level starts to creep back up.
A:AnswerA garden hose is too large in diameter, but I suppose you could insert the drain hose into the garden hose for a loose fit. I would suggest you take the supplied drain hose and match it up at a hardware store for a press fit into a clear vinyl hose.
A:AnswerBetter to buy bigger! don't undersize, I did a lot of research prior to purchase. I use it in a very damp cellar. It will run only to maintain your humidity level you set. Cycling on a large or small unit is basically the same- It runs until it reaches the desired set humity %, then it stands by.
A:AnswerIf the holding tank fills up it will stop working until it is emptied. If that is happening that is the issue. The humidity will start to rebuild in the area until is drained. It needs to be emptied more often or it needs to be allowed to drain continuously via the hose. If it is draining continuously already and it still is not doing its job then I would guess and ask the question that if it is turned off then restarted and it starts to collect water the unit is working. So there are three possible issues. 1. The unit is set to stop at a certain CMs that is not what you want. 2. There is more humidity than the unit can deal with. 3. The unit is not working properly. I can say the one I have works very well in a very large basement.
A:AnswerDid you see it will work until is gets the humidity 5 points below whatever you set it at?
Try a higher setting as a test and see if it turns off, then adjust according to your comfort level. I finding this Honeywell works so well I can set it higher than I thought and I am very comfortable in the room. Using a second humidistat, I'm finding the air is drier 10-20 feet away from the machine than it is measuring.
A:AnswerI believe it's rated for 4,000 sq. ft. but if your basement is particularly damp you'll be emptying it a lot or hook up the drain. Also, if your basement is sectioned off into several rooms and not an open space it would not dehumidify that 4,000 sq. ft. as efficiently.
A:AnswerA small hose came with our dehumidifer. We did not want to use the continuous operation, which usually needs longer drain hose. So we went with the standard unit. If you want to make sure you get the longer hose for the continuous drain operation, you will have to specify a slightly different model number. It is the same basic machine, just a little different adapter and hose kit. You'll probably have to make sure you explain your question to your sales advisor before you buy . . . or get the correct model number from Honeywell before ordering online. As I understand it, the different models are the same price, just feature a different kit. Hope this helps.
A:AnswerI don’t know if it’s an advertised feature, but our power went out a few days ago, and when power came back on, the humidifier came back on with all of the same settings it had before power went out, and resumed functioning on its own.
A:AnswerI have mine in my formal dinning room on the carpet. The wheels are stable and no movement or leaks even when removing a full bucket. The “splash” guard in the bucket helps keep the water from escaping. Hope this helps!
A:AnswerI would suggest limiting the distance from your router to the dehumidifier. I would guess that the dehumidifier and/or router may need to be reset.
The WIFI router may need troubleshooting as well.
