“Do you have to use your cleaner or can you use anything I am wondering if I have to use the cleaner specific for this item or can I just use soap and water?”

It is best to use the Hoover cleaning solution in the Hoover - FloorMate SpinScrub Hard Floor Cleaner. If you decide to use another brand, just be sure not to use a solvent based cleaning concentrates in your cleaner. Also, you cannot use any type of wax in the cleaner.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes you can use your own concoction. I prefer dawn dish soap or a concentrated cleaner I use a lot rather than what comes with floormate. Instructions do come with the machine which say not to use oily cleansers in the machine.
