My husband used a small bamboo skewer to dislodge the remaining debris and then rinsed the nozzle again. I think a small screwdriver would also work since most of the buildup (for us, at least) was right at the lower edge of the nozzle.

From there you can remove the brushes and use a damp cloth, sponge or other cleaning tool to clean the base of your SmartWash. Thanks, Joseph - The Hoover Team
