• Just remove 6 screws and remove the cover underneath the vacuum. Then pull out the beater bar and notice how the belt is placed on the beater bar and post on the other end and replace.

• Can't say. The first one of this model never broke a belt in 3 years. Passed it on to my son who needed a vacuum and I bought the same model so hope it's as great as the first one.
