The Hover-1 Journey struggles on hills, but if can get you up a mild grade one (~15 degrees or so). I'm 230 lbs and mine slows down to around 7-8 mph on hills; you'd probably do better if you're lighter. A couple of times when I was gunning the throttle all the way on a longer hill the engine cut out completely, and I had to wait 30 seconds before I could start it up again. I actually had the engine die on me again today on a completely flat bike path, but I was going along beside the river into some extremely strong head-winds. Long story short, the engine on this scooter works fine on flat ground but if you live in an area with a fair amount of hills I'd recommend something more powerful (and probably more expensive).
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I am 195lbs, it goes up hills just fine. For steep hills you will lose some speed but should still maintain 7+mph going uphill.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I weigh 195lbs and go up hills all the time with this thing. If its a steep hill it may not maintain 15mph, but you will likely go up the hill at 7mph or higher.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Within reason, not a problem. Any hill that you will encounter on a typical roadway is no problem at all. I weigh 200 lbs and typically have a 20 lbs backpack with me, this scooter will take me up an incline of 10 or more degrees without showing down. It has a lot of power, range is good, too.
