This laptop has an AMD Ryzen 5 7520u processor. This is comparable to an Intel Core i5 1135G7 processor. This computer is fine for school work, but is not a gaming computer per se. It does not have a "high end" video card like serious gamers want. However, it should be suitable for video games that are not particularly demanding, as it has a generous amount of RAM, 16 GB. The SSD is somewhat small at 256 GB, but this is more than adequate for most people and can be upgraded to a larger SSD if desired.

Don't know about specialized school programs like CAD, or how you measure 'how much icore,' but if it helps, it has a CPU Mark of 9,452.
