Yes, there is currently one stick of 8ram, not 2 sticks of 4 which makes easier to upgrade. If you were wanting to upgrade to 16gb, you can just go on any store website like best buy or amazon and look for 8gb laptop ram. They are fairly cheap
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have this laptop. I added the PNY 2400mhz 8gb stick sold here with SKU number 6346312. It was instantly recognized and compatible for dual channel mode. You just need patients and some small screwdrivers (ssd placeholder plastic was a pain to remove at such awkward screw angles. This laptop is superb. I also added a 500gb Samsung ssd SKU 6178650 without issue. Just had to format it and assign drive number. I also highly recommend people with this laptop find the proper Ryzen 5 mobile 3550H Radeon software/drivers from AMD's site. I noticed as much as nearly double the fps in some games, even when they were running on the GTX 1050. It doesn't update with automatic search in device manager. You need to manually select the right drivers on the site. It adds lots of additional functionality. I think the update made it fully able to outsource the GPU portion of games to the GTX 1050 instead of a hybrid solution so it could dedicate resources to processing. The preinstalled 8gb ram that came in my laptop was kingston hp26d4s9s8me-8. Seems to work nicely with the PNY module. A 2x8gb kit would cost around $75, while simply adding the PNY module is around $35. Kits are generally recommended over mixing. Decision is yours.
I would recommend:
