The touch screen is optional... in that, you do not have to touch the screen. The keyboard is still 100% usable, as is the touch pad. (Or you can get a mouse instead.)

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.You can use function keys to toggle-switch the touch-pad on or off. If you want to only use keyboard to type (while using Office Word Software, for example) touch-pad should be toggle-switched off so when typing, your wrist does not accidentally rest on the touch-pad and ruin your document. However, a mouse should be attached so you may also move around your documents easily and even highlight sections in case you want to format without using keyboard commands. A mouse would actually make the touch-pad unnecessary.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes on most laptops touch screen is optional but if even a little bit of water touches the touch screen everything just freaks out so personally I just went into the device manager and disabled the touch screen
