You have to look for the "photo quality" black ink. It is very annoying that the symbols are not shown on the packaging. I found the correct ink when I asked about it at Best Buy.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The bow tie symbol is photo black ink and is used in 5 cartridge printers. Black ink cartridge has a house symbol and that ink is used by the printer primarily for letters and numbers not photo's. When you go to buy the ink you will notice the cartridge will either say Photo Black or Black. They are not interchangeable. If you bring up a print report to show what is low you go and get that cartridge.
