Yes. You can use the HP ENVY 5530 All-In-One Printer in the single-cartridge mode. I would recommend using the setup cartridges first. Then, when the tricolor ink cartridge is empty or low, you would take that ink cartridge out. The printer will automatically go into the single-cartridge mode. Then, you can print with just the black ink cartridge if you wanted to. So, you don't have to replace the tricolor ink cartridge.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, display on printer will show low or no color ink in cartridge but as long as their is ink in your black ink cartridge you will be okay.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I assume so. That is what I do in my HP Envy 4502. Just leave the empty color one in there. Only spend money on color ink if I absolutely need to. Been doing this for years.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I don't see why not if you never use color printing.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Don't leave the used-up color ink in printer, otherwise printer will not print out the color-balance sheet. At least this was the case with my Envy 4500.
