how do you replace the cartridges null

I replace cartridges about every 4 weeks.

You have to buy the ink from HP through an ink program they have.

With the HP 3830 printer on, drop the front two doors. Wait for the cartridges to be brought to the replacement point, it will stop moving there. Pull each one out individually and put it the same color(s) in the previous one's place. Snap out, snap in. Shut both doors and follow the screen's instructions.

It depends on your printer. For detailed information, search your printer's model on support.hp.com.
