“I have a HP Office Jet Pro 8600 Premium, have always purchased new HP ink 950XL that has the number #CN045A in the top right hand corner of the ink cartridge. Now that number is #CN045AN and it does not work with that "N" at end, where can I get #CN045A?”

I just got off the phone with HP. The CN045AN has a Z10 on the front of the package and on the cartridge. This is a regional code and the cartridge is only good for US & Canada printers. My old black cartridge that just ran out of ink was a Z20 cartridge, not Z10. I had to take out all the Z20 cartridges and only put in Z10. HP tech support then had to reset the regional code on my printer to accept the Z10 cartridges only. This wasted over an hour of my time and I had to throw out my partially used Z20 color cartridges as they were no longer compatible with the new Z10 black cartridge. My printer is working again and accept the new CN045AN cartridges. Good luck, it's crazy!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I cannot answer your question definitively except to say I was told at a Best Buy location that they are not interchangeable. The model of the printer changed slightly and so did the ink!!! I purchased one machine in early December and a second in late Dec. or early January and they did not take the same ink, although both said 8610. You can imagine how thrilled I was about that.

Put the old cartridge back in first before turning it off. Reboot all again and then go through the process of installing it. Might resolve the problem.
