Yes. I think some laser printers only print black and white.

There are unfortunately no inkjet printers at this time that only print with a black cartridge; we recommend considering a monochrome laserjet printer for these needs.

As far as I know, any printer will print in black if you choose to use black ink when doing your printing. I don't believe there's a need to even put the color cartridges in if you're only printing black.

Why would you want to? Not sure one exists. Even so, if you only wanted to print in black, just change the printer settings to always print black.
