How do I get the 9 free months of Instant Ink? null

You don't. When you go to sign up with HP it only gives you 2 months free.

At the time of setting up the DeskJet 2734e printer, you will opt into the Instant Ink program. Once you do that you will get the 9 free months of Instant Ink and you will receive ink whenever your printer runs low. At the end of the 9-month period, you can cancel the program or pay the monthly plan amount to continue the service.

I had this same issue and figured it out. I had to do a factory reset. The issue comes from the HP+. If you skip that registration, you won't qualify for the 9-months of ink. Once I reset the printer and installed it again I was able to activate the HP+ and then the ink trial became 9-months. I'm not sure if there's a way to do it without resetting everything because the card that came with the printer does say "within 7 days" but the guy on HP's chat box wasn't helpful at all.

YES YOU DO !!! In order to get the 9 free monts you have to enrol in the first seven(7) days after you set up the printer.
