Hello. Thanks for your question. You would go to https://www.hpinstantink.com to register your printer for the free 6 months of printing. The HP Instant Ink program is based on the number of pages you print. Not the ink. You can choose any of the HP Instant Ink plans for the first 6 months. The ink and shipping are included. HP will send you ink before you need it. The HP Instant Ink program is based on the number of pages you print. Not the ink. You can also use the HP Smart app to set up the printer. It will ask if you want to try the 6 months of free printing.
