“Does Windows 10 Home come with Word or Excel? If not, will I be able to open transferred files from old computer? Also, if there’s no Word or Excel, I don’t want to purchase a monthly subscription to Microsoft Office. Is there a program I can buy once?”

• Libre Office is free, does everything Micosoft does an is compatible with microsoft office.

• Thank you for the question. Windows 10 Home is the operating system, and Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, etc.) is ancillary software. This Desktop comes with a one-month trial of Microsoft 365. At the end of the trial, you can subscribe for a low fee. If you prefer a one-time purchase, there is an option, however, that version does not receive feature updates.
