Even a laptop that is only one year old, lovingly cared for, with an original cost of $500, will probably return you less than $100. You'd be better off selling it on eBay, Facebook Marketplace, an acquaintance, etc., or just giving it to a family member. These things start depreciating as soon as they exit the door.

When it does, it will be immediately under the price. I suspect this happens with the more expensive models, but have not done a statistical analysis, so can't state this as a positive truth. Also, at the bottom of the Best Buy page, there can be found a link for their Trade-In Program, where more information can be found.
