Not sure you would need to check. I wanted the 16 GB and it's awesome. 16 GB RAM is the new 8 GB RAM.

The Ryzen APU (combo of CPU and integrated GPU) highly depends on its dual channel setup for optimal performance, meaning you should have *both* memory slots filled with the same SODIMMs (memory modules) for fastest computer speed. If you have one slot filled with 4 GB and the other one with 8 GB, you only get full speed for the first 4 GB. The other 4 GB will perform slower. However, if you are only watching YouTube videos, do a lot of document editing, or mainly browse through the internet, you very likely won't notice the speed drop.
