- Answer No it does not have integrated lan adapter. You can use a usb 3 GigE lan adapter which you can pick up for about $20

- Answer This question is hard to answer, it depends on which programs the school uses. I would think they would just use Microsoft Office, web browser, etc. This laptop would be more than capable of those applications.

- Answer The site description, and every review I have read says that it is a full 1080p screen resolution. All the full HD videos I have watched have proven this to be true.

- Answer This laptop will run all of those programs. As for games, it will run most last generation games at 60fps in low settings. Older games such as those listed will run with no issue.

- Answer I am a professional scientist of many years. A sturdy I5 with 12GB RAM is more than sufficient for most professionals and certainly a first year student in science or engineering. Beyond that, the quality and versatility of the design is both aesthetically and functionally appealing. Most any student would be very fortunate to have this as a tool in their academic arsenal.

- Answer Yes....it also back lit, but must purchase a disc player if you need dvd or disc downloads. A bit heavier but great screen and picture.

- Answer I have not experienced any problems with my computer battery and I have even forgot that I was charging overnight. I definitely would recommend letting the computer die and then plugging it to fully charge the first time. After that you shouldn't have a problem, but that method should be with all chargeable electronics.

- Answer Yes, presumably you are using an external mouse to navigate, if so go to settings, devices, mouse and touch pad (left side of the screen) additional mouse settings (lower part of the screen), in the window that pops up click the check box "disable internal pointing device when external USB pointing device is attached. Unchecked the box to re-enable the touch pad

- Answer These batteries are replaceable, it just requires taking the whole bottom panel off. HP or a computer repair shop would replace it.

- Answer This laptop has a fullsize HDMI port and a USB Type C port. If your monitor has HDMI you can use it directly with an HDMI cable. Or if it has DVI then you can get an HDMI to DVI adapter. The USB Type C port you can get all sorts of output video adapters for that, VGA, DVI, HDMI, DisplayPort. So short answer is yes you can connect it to the monitor depending if you have the proper cables and adapters.

- Answer Most games run perfectly fine. While I don't have experience with those games specifically, my Steam library runs fine, and so does EVEOnline. Granted, you may not be able to run it on the highest of high settings, but you can run it on decent graphics with not a lot of difficulty.
