QuestionCan multiple pages be inserted into the chute for scanning? What is the scanning speed, (pages per minute)? Will it scan duplex (2-sided)? If so, how easy is it to scan duplex?

- Answer Yes, you can scan up to 35 pages at a time through the document feeder, and it scans at up to 15 ppm. However sorry, it does not scan duplex automatically. You would need to step up to our 400 series for that feature, such as the M426fdw which does single-pass double-sided scanning.

- Answer Just checked - it can scan at 75, 150 & 300 dpi. It looks like the default is set to 150.

QuestionWhat's the difference between "automatic two sided printing" and "built in duplex printing"? Does that simply mean that you need to specify a printer configuration option to get duplex (two-sided) printouts?

- Answer I don't use the HP LaserJet Pro MFP M227fdw as a fax machine. However, as a scanner, it works beautifully using HP Scan & Capture download. As a printer and copier, it is one of the best HP MFP printers I have owned. It works beautifully as a WyFI printer also.

- Answer There is a bottom feed tray and there's a load tray also on top of glass scanner. So you can print either way.

- Answer Sorry, but I've never tried to print a single check. I know you can print an envelope, but that's about it. I would check on the HP website.

- Answer You can darken and lighten copies. If it is a document you are printing you will need to adjust the text color or font size, bold, etc...
