When the printer is connected to your device it should begin to detect it and, also, begin to download the drivers for the printer. However, if you do not have internet at home, or the disc that came with the printer is lost, please, do go to the HP website and look for the drivers on the website, for the printer you are looking for. Most printers will only need the basic driver, if all one wants to do is print. However, if the desire is to use the printer to its' fullest potential then the full feature driver should be downloaded.
