QuestionDifference between BestBuy's HP 5741 and other seller's HP 5740I can't find that anyone except BestBuy sells a model HP 5741 printer. The HP web site (www.hp.com) does not even recognize that as printer model. When you type that into HP's search box it says "Your search for HP 5741 printer has 0 results." Then it asks "Did you mean 5740, 5742, 5744, 5745? I'm leery about buying a model number that HP doesn't recognize.

- Answer The HP 5741 is the same as the HP 5740. It has a different number because they are sold at different retailers. Thank you for choosing HP for your printing needs

QuestionWhat does 'integrated' fax mean? How can you fax?

Question$120 prepaid card with HP 5741 printer1. Is $120 prepaid card in addition to 1 year of free ink ? 2. If I use $120 prepaid card to sign up for a plan of $2.99 / month (50 pages per month), does it mean that I get ink supply for up for 40 months (as long as I print 50 pages a month)

- Answer Great question. This printer does not have double sided scanning. You have to manually flip the document over to the other side to scan it. If you are interest in a printer that can automatically double side scan, I recommend looking into the OfficeJet Pro 8620. I hope this helps!

QuestionCan this printer handle card stock?

- Answer Yes, it does take card stock paper, but the settings for paper type do not specify card stock....just says plain paper, photo paper (glossy or matte) and brochure paper. I used the plain paper setting and it worked. This printer has confusing preference settings!

- Answer Good question. You have to print from your phone using WiFi. You have 2 options for that. You can either connect both the printer and your phone to the same WiFi network such as your home WiFi network, or you can turn on the printer's own built-in WiFi hotspot. The printer has a feature called WiFi Direct. With that feature turned on, you can connect your phone to the printer's WiFi and print to the printer. I recommend installing a free app called HP ePrint to your phone to help you print to the printer from your phone. QuestionPrinter is no longer available (2017 ?) we printed a photo and now will not let us print !! No matter what we tried ( disconnecting etc. ) it says nothing but photo tray is empty . Have NO idea on how to correct it ( if possible )

- Answer Good question. That is true. This printer is only for the instant ink service. You cannot put regular cartridges in it. If you wish to purchase this printer without Instant Ink, you can get the OfficeJet 5740. It is the same exact printer without the required Instant Ink service. The 5740 is still eligible for Instant Ink service. I hope this helps.

QuestionI have an older model printer (HP Photosmart 7510), my problem is when I try connecting to the internet I get a message saying "you are connected to a network but there was a problem connecting to the internet. Thanks for any help

- Answer Good question. The printer you are posting this question on (HP OfficeJet 5741) can reduce and enlarge copies from 25 to 400%. However, this printer is an Instant Ink printer only. You should only purchase this printer if you want to use the HP Instant Ink Service. If you are not interested in Instant Ink at this moment, you can take a look at the HP OfficeJet 5740. The 5740 is the same printer as this model, except it does not require you to enroll in the Instant Ink service.
