- Answer Hello. Thanks for your question. If you plan to try the HP Instant Ink trial that comes with this HP Officejet Pro 9025e printer, this printer does need an internet connection. If you don't plan to try HP Instant Ink, you can set up this printer with the USB A to B 2.0 cable.

- Answer Thank you for your question! This printer has the Scan to Email feature which can be used without the HP Smart software after Web Services has been enabled. To scan a PDF to a device, some type of software will need to be used, such as HP Smart, EWS Webscan, or Windows Scan.

To make it easier the next time, we recommend using the HP Smart Tasks. It allows you to make a shortcut, i.e. a scanned item to be emailed to this email address.
