Their is no way for best by to know if you opened it. No warranty stickers or anything to remove. As for replacing the RAM, its 8 screws and then you have full access to your ports. Be sure you purchase ram that runs full speed at 3200MHz at 1.2V. I'd personally recommend crucial CT2K16G4SFRA32A
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The new design allows easy access with only a few screws. You can install it yourself and if for some reason you require warranty service just pull it out. With the new design chassis you will become Very familiar with doing this as the vent openings are too large and they are seeing large amounts of dust and hair ending up inside these new model laptops. Only solution, open up and blow out with canned air. Do Not vacuum. Static issues could cause damage. I ended up purchasing the ASUS PC with all the same 4th Gen Ryzen 7, 1660ti combo and avoided the HP Problems. ASUS just released their Self Cleaning Fan System which Exhausts the dust and debris right out an exit port at the back corners of the PC. Look at the "From Manufacturer" section of the add in Best Buy listing. And at only $999.99 you do not need to add RAM, It comes with 16GB. So now I have purchased a ASUS PC that I will not open until it's out of warranty to upgrade the 512GB SSD with some Killer Samsung 970's or PRO SSD's. (2) 500GB should really up the system speed.
