“does this monitor come with speakers built in? i was recently convinced to buy a desktop pc and now i need a monitor and i want to know if this has speakers built in and if not what speakers do you reccomend that are inexpensive and have good quality”

This HP monitor does not have built in speakers.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.No. Like most monitors, this one has no speakers built in. Your desktop has a "3.5 mm" audio out [usually a green connection]. That is designed for computer speaker systems to plug in. There are lots of them out there for not a boatload of money. As a side note, you can also send the computer audio to a home stereo system with a "3.5mm" to left and right phono connector. I'm sure that you have seen plenty of those. IF you get a loud hum situation when doing that, stick a ground loop isolator between the two. That is not common with new computers, but be advised of that.
