• AMD is the Manufacturer's acronym for Advanced Micro Devices and is a Intel's primary competitor. The A8 series simply represents the Generation of the processor (the brains of a computer) within a specific model or family e.g. Chevrolet has many types of vehicle families and specific features on models within them. A Camaro fully loaded is called a 2LT versus the 1LT (basic). The AMD Fusion family has the A4, A6, A8, & A10 models and as you might suspect the A8 is at the higher end of that model series, giving you more features or 'a stronger engine'. Hope this helps.
