Most of the units will come with some type of anti-virus software pre-installed. If you do not want the anti-virus software, you will need to uninstall it completely to stop those pop-ups. Microsoft has Windows Defender with the Windows 10 and 11 units which is their own protection. Through Geek Squad, you can also choose an anti-virus software as well as have them remove any of the software that you may not want that comes pre-installed on the machine.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, most computers come with the McAfee program installed. However, I just went into Add/Remove programs and uninstalled all McAfee so those popups wouldn't happen. Once those are uninstalled, this computer is perfect!!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Download the free McAfee removal tool, MCPR. Add/remover/uninstall in Windows doesn't entirely remove the program which needs to be done to install any GOOD, 3rd party internet security program. You can "uninstall" through "add/remove programs" then run the MCPR software to remove all the hidden traces of the McAfee software. Any emails from McAfee I'd just set to be redirected automatically to my spam folder.
