It has a Python subset. microPython. You can't load very many libraries (but it has useful ones) and not ALL of the syntax is available, it works and it is quick. In contains the following Libraries: gc, MicroPython, random, arit, graphic, sys, ure, array, hpprime, ucollections, ustrut, builtins, lining, errno, utimeq, cas, math, uhashtab, cmath, matplotl, uio. You CAN add modules to the files system as well. On the other hand you have access to all of the calculations and CAS functions ... you can do things like plotting using the calculators built in functions without the need for any external libs...so it works for what it is designed for. Python on the Prime isn't a replacement for Python on a computer (maybe get a Raspberry Pi 4 if you are looking for a low cost Python solution), but works well for a calculator.
