Yes, you pour the specific color ink into whichever tank is low. It is a spillproof design and works better than I had expected. New units come with enough ink to fill all 4 tanks with each specific color. The black bottle will fill the tank almost two times completely. The other colors fill their tanks completely one time.

You would gently set the ink bottle on the proper tank (do not squeeze it) and it will gravity fill, and stop when the tank is full. Gently remove the bottle, cap it if ink remains, and save for future refilling. Close the tanks and tank compartment and you're ready to print. This is a very clean, quick, and effortless process.
