While the cameras in the X360 laptop are the poorest quality camera I've ever seen in any device, I have found a solution to the purple tint issue. There is a prefect little InfraRed Light glass filter that fits right over the camera lens. The filter costs $5 and can be purchased online at B&H Photo Video. Search for Marshall Electronics 650nm IR Cut Filter. The filter is about 12mm in diameter, so it fits just right without trimming. I used four small pieces of double sided tape to create a square opening around the camera lens, then stuck the filter on. Then with a very sharp razor blade or Exacto knife - trim the excess tape away. Wipe the fingerprints off the filter and you are done. This totally eliminates the purple tint of the camera in all lighting conditions. It takes 5 minutes to do, and costs $5 for the filter - well worth the time and effort. HP will never offer a fix for this because they can't - they opted to put crap cameras in their flagship laptops - a fatal error on their Engineering Department. But this is a viable work around.
