These answers contradict one another. Just to let you know, I purchased one 16gb DDR4 3200 and installedit in the 1st position and took the original 8gb to the second slot. The system properties shows 24gb of RAM now.

Please try again later.(This is specifically for Anonymous, although he will only see it if he bothers to visit the Questions section again and this specific Question/Answer): I suspect that PC manufacturers design computers to fulfill certain, specific requirements, but sometimes, these are accidentally exceeded. However, the maker can't quote the new "standards" because then they would legally have to stand behind them for every one of those models. This way, you get a bonus, and are grateful for it, but if your particular unity didn't meet those extra standards, the maker is protected.
