Thank you for the question. you can upgrade the RAM to 32GB. You can leave the 8GB stick in place and add 16GB to the other slot, or replace the original stick with 16GB, and add a 16GB stick to the other slot. You just want to make sure the speed and RAM type of both sticks is the same (DDR5, 4800 MHz).

You must match the type and speed, and should match the memory. I would suggest either adding a matching 8GB stick, or, replacing it with 2 matching 16GB sticks. 32GB of RAM is often overkill, though. Typically, 16GB is plenty of RAM for gaming and most user's needs and is considered the "sweet spot."
