I know hp has said this is a dual channel motherboard and I’m not sure if things have changed but it either is really terrible at dual channel or it is in fact single channel I bought my hp victus 15l prebuilt at Walmart mine came with a Ryzen 5 5600g and a rx 6400 witch is crazy cause the 6400 has less performance than a Gtx 780 a 10 year old gpu but anyways immediately bought a used hp 600w power supply and a 3060ti everything was running much better but still lagging playing apex legends I ran some tests and figured it must be the ram and I keep seeing everywhere online the 8gb package is two 4 gig sticks but I have a single 8gb ram stick somehow? I switched out the ram for 2 4 gig sticks to run in dual channel 3200mhz witch is faster but will drop down to 2133mhz or whatever the motherboard lets it run and it did much much worse at everything from gaming to browsing the web I pulled two 8 gig sticks from a computer to check that and the test ran worse with 2x8 sticks (that I know work 100%) then when I ran just one of the 8gb sticks idk how this is dual channel if it preforms worse then single channel it must not be dual channel or there some type of error and it’s bouncing between stick’s terribly and it might even be a known error and that’s why mine was given one 8gb stick instead of 2 and they said hey it works right who cares anyway the entire computer has been rebuilt only thing left is the 5600g witch of course is not from hp just build your own pc I could’ve built a better preforming pc for 30 dollars more and saved me hundreds and have gotten a 50% increase in performance off the bat
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Thank you for your question! This has dual-channel RAM. Specifically, 8 GB of DDR4-3200 MHz RAM in a 2 x 4 GB layout.
