Q: QuestionDoes this work with the Surface Laptop 2?

• A:Answer It doesn't! I tried since I have a Surface 5 (Upgraded) and Surface 2 since the port layouts different.

Q: QuestionHow could this work with Surface? I see a USB & C sticking out. My Surface doesn't have a c & USB next to each other.

• A:Answer I don't have this yet, but I am considering buying it for my Surface 4 which has a USB 3 and a Mini Display female port next to each other. The two male ports on the adapter are a USB 3 and Mini Display port, not USB C. Once you plug the adapter into your Surface, you will have two USB 3 A ports and a USB 3 C port. Hence you with have three USB ports instead of one. You will also have both Mini Display Port and HDMI (more common) video port instead of just a Mini Display port. I don't think both video ports can used at the same time, but I could be wrong. In essence, the device is a 3 port USB hub and also gives you the option of using a monitor or tv with an HDMI port as a second display. You could do the same thing with a 3 or more port USB hub and a Mini Display to HDMI cable for about $15. This solution is a bit more elegant as it is a single device that plugs into your Surface. Lastly, I am speaking of a Surface 4 here. I am not certain, but I believe the Surface Pro 5 and 6 have the same ports as the 4. I do know the new Surface 7 has a USB 3.1 type C and A ports finally, although they don't support Thunderbolt 3 unfortunately.

• A:Answer It is compatible with Surface Pro 4, 5 and 6 only. The hub does not has Ethernet port built-in, but you can plug in a USB-A Ethernet adapter to get it to work with the HyperDrive hub. There is a HDMI port built-in which works with HDMI monitor.

• A:Answer Testing this on a Surface Pro 6, the charging cable and the hub are able to fit at once . All connections are on the right side of the Surface.

• A:Answer Our USB-C devices are not compatible with the Surface Laptop 2. They are, however, compatible with the Surface Laptop 3. This is because of the use of Mini DisplayPort, rather than USB-C.

• A:Answer Hi Robert, If you are referring to the Surface Pro 7, the HyperDrive for Surface Pros will only work up to Surface Pro 6. This is because the Surface Pro 7 started using the USB-C connection on its device. You will want to check out our universal USB-C hubs with 7, 9, and 11-ports.
