No. It might be hook to.a wire on the back side of it but the front remains open

Nope, they'll install it directly to the wiring under your dash -- for most cars it should also include a free T-harness so they shouldn't have to cut into your wiring (maybe tap into a few wires if needed). They'll basically unplug connectors under the dash and plug everything back in using the T-harness and remote starter unit so mostly plug and play -- they'll run the antenna to the top of your windshield. When you buy the remote starter it should also ask for your car's info and add the necessary parts to your cart as well (for my Honda Civic it was remote starter + free T-harness + free install)
