the peeling is actually a thin plastic film that is there to protect the control panel during shipping, etc. it is meant to be removed. You can remove it by starting at a corner and getting a fingernail underneath it, then pulling it gently off.. the control panel is in pristine condition beneath it.. a lot of appliance manufacturers have this film on there control panels. I have found it on my microwave and dryer control panels. I have had this model for over a year and the control panel is perfect. Just get rid of the film.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Problem with the Whirlpool Gold touch panel on my range peeling after about 6 years. There is no plastic film on it. Appears to be another coating which is flaking off the panel.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Phew! I was about to be mad haha I also thought my microwave was ruined, bubbling started happening under start button after 4 months. I had already removed a protective film when I installed it and swore there wasn’t another one. I’d tried to find the edges of if and couldn’t. Finally I just cut a small hole where it had started to bubble and peeled from there - lo and behold, another protective film. Looks like new now. If your buttons are bubbling on a relatively new microwave it’s most definitely a sneaky removable film.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. There is a plastic sticker i guess you could say over the touchpad that started to peel a couple months after purchase. I ended up just peeling the entire sticker off and it looks good as new!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Mine did this. There is a solution in the manual. Read. So when my control panel bubbled up in a few places I freaked out. Mine is only two months old. I took a wide piece of clear tape and covered the entire panel with it. Then I stripped the tape off and it actually removed the Temporary PROTECTIVE Bubbled plastic coating with it. It’s beautiful now.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Mine was doing exactly that ,really bugged me for months . Was regretting my purchase. When i read your commentary tried with my nail where the bubbles were busted one bubble with nail and pulled the film off. Now its like new. Thanks for your advise.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes; touch pad started peeling soon after purchase.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I bought my Oster microwave 1 year ago and it also began bubbling on the panel over the numbers, etc. We read the other comments and decided to try cutting into one of the bubbles...lo and behold, a second protective covering was discovered. Once it was removed, it looked brand new!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This happened to me too. Had a tear on the control panel after two months of use. After reading this thread, I discovered there actually was a protective plastic cover that peeled right off! Looks like brand new again. Thanks all!
