Is it region free? null

This portable DVD player is Region 1

I would say, no it isn't. In the preference section you can choose between NTSC and PAL format. In fact, that's why I wanted the player; I have some European DVDs that I wanted to play. I set preferences to PAL, but when I put the DVD into the player, it reverted to NTSC and would not play it.
