I just feel it's the machines way of turning on. Took me a few times to get used to that. After shredding it does a reverse as well. I guess to catch any jams?

Check for Overheating: The shredder might be overheating. If it has been used continuously for a while, it might need to cool down. Turn it off and let it rest for about 20-30 minutes before trying again. 2. Inspect for Jams: There could be small pieces of paper stuck in the blades. Turn off and unplug the shredder, then carefully check and remove any debris. 3. Ensure Proper Alignment: Make sure the shredder head is correctly positioned on the wastebasket. If it's not aligned properly, the shredder might not function correctly. 4. Avoid Overloading: Ensure you are not inserting more than the maximum sheet capacity (10 sheets) at a time. Overloading can cause the shredder to pause and reset. 5. Clean the Sensors: Dust or paper particles might be obstructing the sensors. Use a soft cloth to gently clean the sensors located near the paper entry slot. If these steps don't resolve the issue, it might be best to contact Insignia customer support for further assistance. If you have any other questions or need further help, feel free to ask!
