Flat bottom cast iron or stainless steel pans only can be used on this induction cooktop. I suggest getting a magnet if you are unsure if your pan is stainless. If the magnet sticks to the pan it should work. The burner works by heating up the molecules in the steel.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. As long as the cookware bares the symbol (see attached image) or words stipulating that it is “induction ready” then you can use it. So to answer your question, yes - you can buy any type of induction cookware for use with this portable induction cooktop.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes. Induction cooking requires magnetic metal cookware. They even put a magnet in the box that you can take shopping with you to test any cookware you intend to buy in case the packaging doesn't indicate induction compatible.

Take your little magnet with you when you go shopping next time and try it out for yourself. You will be wasting your time buying stainless steel for use with any of these portable induction tops. I own a Nu Wave 1800W. double induction cook top, bought here at Best Buy, and I can attest to the fact that you will have to wait a LONG while for a stainless pan to get even warm to the touch on an induction type of cook top. And then, it would have to be sitting in direct sunlight to absorb any heat from the sun's rays. I cook with cast iron, it is and always has been a ferrous type metal, aka, magnetically attracting metal. I have found only 1 SS pan, a 10" stainless pan from the Emeril Lagasse line of cookware, which works on my cooktop. And it has a "layered" bottom on it with a quarter inch of copper sandwiched between the SS pan itself and a ferrous type steel bottom. It doesn't rust [the bottom layer] so it isn't a carbon steel but it isn't stainless either. SS simply will not attract a magnet.
