Oddly, the box and the instruction sheet do not mention what type of battery it is. However, on the battery itself it does say in very small print "Li." So therefore, it is a Lithium battery. You must not put this in a checked bag! It must be carried on board with you. This is a safety measure in case it catches fire.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I took from the East Coast to the West Coast, via American Airlines and Alaska Airlines. No problem in carryon luggage, and no issues using it while in flight. I did not plug it in and charge it during the flights. And I would not recommend charging it in any place but a household / office wall outlet, just to be safe. It’s a bit heavy to carry long distances in your purse, but definitely kept the tablet and phone fully charged, despite using the tablet for most of several 4+hour flights.
