I've had my insignia 18 cubic feet freezer refrigerator for about 9 months now and I read in the reviews before I bought it about a noise the refrigerator and was hopefully not going to have the problem with the new one I bought but yesterday I was at my mother's who I bought it for and the refrigerator kicked on and started making this moaning noise so I went in inspected it looked it over and sound like it was coming from the fan in the freezer so I went to the freezer refrigerator setting and turned it down one setting to number two it was on three and when it kicked back on it didn't make the moaning noise and so I turned it back up to number three setting and today all day it ran and didn't make any noises hope this helps anybody out just try, maybe it'll work good luck.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. We’ve had ours for a couple of years and it still sounds like it’s haunted.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Mine is quiet so far. However, I noticed that when they delivered it, they pulled it off the truck sideways so I left it unplugged a couple of hours to let the oil go back into the compressor. If they transported it sideways and plugged it in immediately, the oil may have been in the lines instead of in the compressor and could have caused damage.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I’ve had the 18 cu ft insignia for about 18 months now. After the second month I noticed the freezer was not getting as cold. I called Best Buy and after troubleshooting with them over the phone I realized that we had to much food in the freezer so the vents in freezer were not working properly. Once we took some food so that the vents weren’t blocked the freezer was ice cold within the hour. Fast fwd to 18 months and our freezer started making a very loud humming noise in the middle of the night. We unplugged the fridge to reset as suggested online however the noise was still so loud that we could her from our bedrooms. We finally unplugged and in the am took all the food out to discover that husband had crammed the freezer full so vents were covered with thick ice. After thawing ice in an hour we plugged the fridge back in and the freezer is working perfectly fine for the past month. Hope this helps someone else troubleshoot before calling for repair.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Ours was making the same noise and my husband said there was no screws in the fan motor.
