If no optical, you have two other potential options: 3.5mm out (classic headphone jack). If your TV has a headphone jack, you can use the cord that came with the sound bar, that features the 3.5mm on both sides. RCA out ( red and white). This is the most common audio out on older TV's. 2 plugs, red and white with the word "out" nearby. There may also be red and white ( and yellow) RCA plugs with the word "in". This is to be ignored, as it's for analog inputs, like a vcr or old DVD player. There is a RCA to 3.5mm cord with the sound bar as well. Red and white to the TV, 3.5mm to sound bar. You will most likely have to change the sound settings on the TV to "audio out" or something similar. Hope this helps.
