Q: QuestionCan I use this to transfer files from a non operating WD external hd to another hard drive? My WD hard drive quit and I want to recover photos from the hard drive. I saw on Utube how to do it. Is this the "sled" that he used?

Q: QuestionCan I put a Samsung 870 EVO SSD in this case and make it a bootable external drive for my M1 MacBook Pro? Related question, can I use Internet Recovery to install the latest MacOS on this drive when it is connected to my M1 MacBook Pro?

• A:Answer Yes. I cloned my W10 OS onto a larger 870 EVO using this case. I then was able to boot my machine from the cloned drive, still inside the case, attached to USB3. (You do have to boot to BIOS and change boot order to USB to do this). After this test, I went ahead and swapped the drives and reset my BIOS to boot normally.
