Use a cloth or sponge and wash the bowl. The bottom that contains the heating element should not need washing but the outside could be wiped clean with a wet sponge if desired.

I would not recommend dishwashing the rice pot. Mine was washed in the dishwasher & it took the shine of the pot yet it still works so no big deal to me.

How is the fit of the removable (coated) pot with the (white) base? Some have reported that the pot is much taller than the base -- there is a 1/2 in gap between them. Also, is the nonstick coating uniform at the upper lip of the pot? Thanks!
