“Insignia Stereo Receiver NS-STR514 Does this unit have bass/treble controls. Not shown on photo. Specs say it does not have headphone jack, but a "phone" port is clearly visible lower left on the unit. Which is it? Lastly, do the speaker outputs take banana plugs and if so what size plugs?”

There is Bass/Treble controls on the remote, There is a Headphone Jack and a 3.5mm plug on the lower left. I does not take banana plugs.

Please try again later.HI...the base and treble is adjustable from the remote only, it does have a head phone jack and the only speaker hook up is by bare soldered wire ends. There are audio input RCA jacks for 3 auxiliary components and a front panel jack for I POD, PAD etc AUX 3 inputs. Hope this helps.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yea, there are bass/treble controls. They show up digitally on the display and are controlled via the remote control. That is not a headphone jack you are seeing, but it is a 3.5mm connection for iPod, smartphone, etc. As for banana plugs, the speaker connections are just the standard finger-tighten red/black threads. There are some banana plugs that can connect in this manner but I am not familiar with the specific size of those plugs.
