Try the Power On feature, when enabled, your TV turns on displaying the last used input: go Home > Settings > Display & Sounds > Power On and select Last Input.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. On the home screen, tab over to settings (or long press on the home button on the remote). In the settings menu go to display, scroll down and set the power on feature to last input.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have been struggling with this for a while especially for my roommate who has memory issues. 1. Press home button on the Insgnia remote. Press right button several time until settings is reached. Press ok. Choose display and sound. Go to power settings. There is a power on feature - choose last input. 2. On your cable remote say from Spectrum, you can program it such that when you press the power button TV also is turned on. You'll need the TV code corresponding to Insignia. Once you do that, when you press the power button on cable remote, TV will also start. As the TV was set to last input in step 1, it will go directly to hdmi-TV mode.
